LUNGS:
In order for your body to keep biking you need oxygen to make energy so you wont get tired easily. Exercising constantly develops the body`s ability to both take in and then deliver oxygen to the muscles that are being used.Which means you can ride your bike for a longer period of time.

BLOOD AND VEINS:

when you excersise your muscles they need more oxygen and nutrients to be delivered to them. the blood flow increases with more capillaries developing in the muscles.In addition there`s a greater opening of existing capillaries and more effective blood distribution.Plus your resting blood pressure decreases.

BRAIN:
Exercise causes the releases of endorphins (natural pain killers) in the brain.This is why after exercising you feel great,almost as if you`re on a high.This helps to combat the effects of stress.

MUSCLES :
Your muscles become more efficient at generating energy and combatting tiredness,so they can keep working for longer periods of time.
This happens in a number of ways….
* They can tolerate greater levels of lactic acid,the substance which causes that tying up feeling in your muscles,this is known as the lactate threshold.
*they can store more carbohydrate (the muscle fuel).
*there is an increase in the substances in the muscle which enable it to work longer and harder b
efore tiring.

HEART:
Your heart is a type of muscle,and it develops in response to exercise in a similar way to the rest of the muscles in your body.To provide for the demand for greater bloodflow around the body the following happens….
*it gets bigger and stronger.
*it becomes more efficient and can pump more blood with each beat.When you`re exercising flat-out this means you can exercise even harder.
*consequently your heart rate decreases,both while exercising and resting.

BONES:
Exercise increases both bone and muscle density.This means there is less risk of developing osteoporosis (brittle bone disease).

BODY WEIGHT :
To fuel your activities your body burns more calories.This results in both body weight and the amount of body fat decreasing.

Many people in Le rouche, France are uniting together as one big group riding their own bikes and taking their sweet time riding. Over 500 cyclists were at the rushour while waiting for the boat to pass, its awesome to see people wanting to make a change in our world and cooperating together.

We figure the Slow Bicycle Movement is all about the journey, not the destination. The destination is, invariably, a fixed geographical point which isn’t going anywhere…

 In August 30 2009 there was an organized bike ride called “The Climate Ride” which occurs in Washington D.C, this ride bring leaders in climate change and renewable energy from NYC to Washington, D.C to meet with Congressional leaders.  The ride is a 300 mile ride and it is hosted by Bitches on Bikes, an informal group co-founded by Seldon, comprised of New York City professionals who organize events and participate in bike rides to benefit charities. This ride is organized as a fund raiser and all funds raised through the Brita Climate Ride will benefit Focus the Nation, Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, and Clean Air–Cool Planet.

From 2005 to 2007 climate expert David Kroodsma bicycled from California to the tip of South America. From there he flew east coast of the United States, joined fellow climate activist Bill Bradlee. Both biked back to California. Over the course of this journey, David gave 150 presentations about global warming, speaking in English and Spanish to audiences in 16 countries, and he appeared in 70 different media outlets across the hemisphere. As David traveled, educating about climate change to all the different people, he himself gained powerful insight into the risks our planet and our species face in the future. David is the author of the book The Road to Tierra del Fuego: my 21,000-mile ride for the climate, he is now doing interviews and multimedia presentations about his journey and is trying to calling for action on global warming and promoting the idea of global citizenship.

ECO FEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this is an even that we are doing on our college campus trying to aware people of whats going on in our world. we have combined our two classes to make an even with different varieties of activities to show people how to grow your own salad, watching educational films and if you bring your bike to school you will receive some refreshments for helping out our event. so please come on down and support our eco fest!

Hello my name is Albert. I am one of two guys out of our bike group which consists of four members two guys and two girls which they will be adding to our blog and telling us about themselves. We started this blog as an assignment that is to promote our event going on here at our college campus that will be  to promote global warming. I am a freshman college student here at Ventura College that has soccer running in my blood. I want you guys to get our here and support us and the other groups, I’m glad I am a part of this class being able to help out our world and save Santa’s crib!  That means house.

Yeah my name is Elizabeth, and I’m the girl on the left in red. I am part of this group to ride bikes and hoping to make a difference in this world. So many people are forgetting to ride their bikes, and to be honest, I’m one of those people. I haven’t ridden my bike in years, so I’m hoping being part of this project will help me remember that riding bikes can make a difference. Being a freshmen, this also helps me get to know the Campus of Ventura College better. Along the way of learning to get my career in art (and perhaps turning into a comic artist) I hope to learn about the biking project as well.

we are one of two groups in our english two class that has taken global warming into our hands. By that we mean we are riding our bike a little more to places where we dont need a car. even though we are only four people riding our bikes and wont change the whole world, we know that we as a group are doing our part to change whats going on in our world.
